In addition to Helsinki Airport, charging for electric cars is available at Oulu, Tampere, Turku, Vaasa, Kuopio, Rovaniemi, Kittilä, Kuusamo, Ivalo, Jyväskylä, Joensuu, Kajaani and Mariehamn Airports. The number of charging stations varies from airport to airport, and new stations are added as needed.
“As electric cars are becoming more common, it’s important that we are able to provide customers with the opportunity to charge their electric cars in the immediate vicinity of the airport,” says Jani Jolkkonen, Senior Vice President, Airport Network at Finavia.
Starting from November 2022, the charging fee for electric cars at regional airports will include a starting fee of EUR 4. The use of a charger is priced according to energy consumption, EUR 0.25 per kWh. The customer’s service provider may charge additional fees.
In addition to chargers for electric cars, remotely controlled block heater poles are available at Oulu and Rovaniemi Airports, the use of which will be subject to a fixed price of EUR 5 from November 2022.
The chargers at Finavia airports are medium-speed and have Type 2 plugs. Charging stations for electric cars are assigned according to demand, and they are only intended for charging electric cars.
