The new Café Koivikko at gate 44 offers passengers a taste of the North: reindeer meatballs with mashed potatoes and lingonberries, rye bread sandwiches, famous Finnish Karelian pies, hearty salads – and of course a cup of good coffee coupled with a fresh cinnamon bun.
In December, the new Helsinki Smoothery will open at gate area 37–39, serving quick and healthy refreshments to eat and drink – energising smoothies, nourishing bowls and fresh juices.
From December onwards, passengers in the area will also be able to make quality purchases at the new Collection store, which will present travellers with a variety of sunglasses, jewellery and watches from well-known brands such as Swarovski, Aarikka, Tous, Swatch, Polar and Tissot.
Capi Electronics, the bookstore Suomalainen Kirjakauppa and the full-service kiosk R-kioski have already opened their doors in the area in October. Capi’s product range includes the best electronics brands and the newest innovations tailored to suit the needs of travellers. These options are always refreshed, ensuring that passengers always get to enjoy the latest product launches.
The new bookstore Suomalainen Kirjakauppa carries current titles in Finnish, Swedish and English, as well as inspiring reads and entertainment for children and young people. The store also provides travel guides and dictionaries, books on Finland and souvenirs.
For snacks, reading, gifts and other necessities, R-kioski now has two new kiosks in the non-Schengen area, at gate area 37–39 and gate 43.
In early 2020, gate area 37–39 will also become the home of a renewed Starbucks cafe.
Finnish sweets onboard
At Terminal 2 Arrivals area 2A, Candy Town has just opened a pop-up shop with a pick and mix assortment that caters to the tastes of Finns and foreigners alike. A selection of up to 360 different sweets is available for arriving and departing passengers.
The pop-up is open from Monday to Sunday, from 10 am to 10 pm, until the end of 2019.
A steadily growing range of services
Last year, Finavia launched a public procurement process to find new retail operators for Helsinki Airport, the largest international airport in Finland. More shops and restaurants by the chosen operators will open their doors in 2020.
